Designed as the perfect practice companion for the style novice, this Ebook contains audio examples that demonstrate the instruction on how to execute ornaments and bowing patterns, and a working Table of Contents which allows the reader to go directly to any page and navigate from style instruction to a tune. Ornaments such as the turn, roll, slide and cut, bowing patterns and rhythmic use of the bow are explained and marked by hand for authenticity, and applied to thirteen favorite Celtic session tunes. Included are some of Heide’s handwritten transcriptions, six full tune recordings, and personal experiences from her journey pursuing the distinctive sound of Celtic music.

Heide Riggs holds a Masters degree in Violin Performance and Pedagogy and has performed for over two decades with symphonies, stage orchestras, tribute shows, Irish bands, country artists, and as a soloist. With her experience as a high school music director and a private teacher, Heide sought to give fiddlers, educators, and students something tangible for grasping the Celtic fiddling style. Passionate about Celtic music, she compiled style notes, resources, and performance memories along her journey from classical player to Celtic fiddler into this one-of-a-kind Ebook.
